How long does it take to
tie off a bale?
Time Studies have shown that it takes about 8 minutes on the average to
tie off a bale in a vertical baler. Horizontal balers average about 10
to 15 minutes depending on the type of baler.

Balers are like any other piece of equipment. With proper maintenance
and repairs units can last
20 years or more.

When should I consider an
Auto-tie baler?
Most operators consider an auto-tie baler once their volume increase to
more then 4 or 5 bales per shift.
It depends on the cost of deducting an employee to respond to the baler
ever time a bale is complete.

What is the difference between a
single-ram and a 2-ram baler?
A single ram baler typically uses an Extrusion chamber to apply pressure
to the material being baled. A Two Ram baler has one cylinder that
compacts into a fixed box and a second cylinder the ejects the bale at a
right angle once the bale is complete.

Do I need a preventive
maintenance program?
If you want you equipment to last it needs to be maintained properly. If
your company doesn’t have the time or the resource to handle the
maintenance then the using an outside source is an excellent idea.

What should I consider when
purchasing used equipment?
Age and condition are the two biggest factors. Also Make sure the unit
in question is the correct unit for your application. Consider the
source selling the unit as well. Many buyers have been duped by
a shiny coat of paint.

What is full penetration?
This is a longer then normal stroke into the bale chamber to maximize
the compression of each lamination of material. Think about filling your
trash can and then pushing the material down with your foot.
This is a similar action.

Do i need a conveyor for my baler?
Conveyor in-feed systems help to improve the performance of the baler. It
delivers a more consistent flow
of material to the unit. Typically a conveyor is not need for a vertical
baler.
